Virtual Families Game Review
The basic concept of Virtual Families is actually quite similar with Virtual Villagers, with the basic theme being set in a family life. On this outing, gamer are not playing as themselves in an avatar, but they will be adopting a person which they should take good care off, helping that character to live their life properly. Being in charge of a certain person life, seemingly brought that fantasy for players who maybe keen experiencing certain things that they never did in reality. Just like real adoption, gamer can actually go through certain options before making their decision as each of those potential candidates have different traits, hobbies, physical appearances, profession, fondness in having children and many others.
Gamer can adopt any of the available options, but it's advised that players should just pick the one that can represent the kind of adventure they're keen on experiencing. Once the character's been picked, gamer can basically give any kind of direction on what that adopted person will be doing. Of course, gamer must provide all the needs that their adopted character requires in their life, basically just trying to keep their character happy. After certain time, gamer will finally receive marriage proposals, which means that it's time to step into the next chapter of life in that game. Players are actually allowed in choosing whether or not they want to experience marriage life or simple stay single.
Choosing not to take that marriage road won't left gamer without any chance in carrying their generation as there supposedly an option for adopting a child along the way. However, choosing the 'normal' family path gives a much comfortable step in experiencing the family life as a whole and eventually carrying things into another generation. Just as picking up the option for main character, gamer will also have many choices for potential life partner, so getting that right person is obviously an essential task since it could very well affect their marriage journey.
Having different characteristic and life goals, can trigger unhappiness among the couple, so gamer should try to avoid any of those potential negative effects from occurring. After deciding the right life partner, next issues that gamer must face in their journey is daily family activities with the main goal is always raising children. This intriguing daily issues can really be a troublesome situation should players not addressing their needs properly, such as the career path that they've chosen in that outing. Just like in our real life, money can be such serious matter especially for a family to keep on going, that's why making the right decision is very essential.
This game is also being set in a real time which makes it very dynamic as everything will keep on going even when gamer decided to leave their game. Although their characters can still life should the basic ingredients are being made available, but if gamer decided to leave it for quite sometime they might just lose their new family. Pausing the game is an option that should be done if players feel that they won't have much time in regularly playing Virtual Families as with the gaming world continue to move normally, many situation can suddenly occurred without gamer noticing it.
Being a life simulation outing, there won't be much PvP action that players can discover from Virtual Families, since it's not some MMORPG that required battling against each others to acquire something. This game simply setting the focus on how would players manage a virtual life as if its their own, so the character in that outing can have an exciting life. Gamer can also see for how many generation they can actually maintain that fine family life since there's option to pass away the house from one generation into another.
Having some many potentially fun gaming element, Virtual Families unfortunately do have its limitation as gamer won't be given much effect in changing their living environment as the developer doesn't seem to make a huge gaming interaction. The character design for this outing also isn't something that would easily attract gamer, especially for those who are much more keen with having prettier gaming characters. There's several odd movements as well from the people in this game, giving an indication that the developer might be rushing things quite a bit for this title.Gaming control is obviously simple as with the usage of mouse, players can execute any kind of stuff they're keen on doing. Just as it was slightly explained, the visual for Virtual Families isn't something extraordinary, though as a whole package it's suitable enough for this type of game as Simulation titles normally doesn't create such complex characters design. The battle that gamer must be fighting here is simply about making that right decision, from choosing their adopted person, the life partner along with every other daily details that can affect many things in that game.
Overall, Virtual Families is a quite interesting life simulation game that once again offers gamer that chance in experiencing life the way they're keen on living. Although it's far from perfect, but the temptation of controlling how daily routines are being handled differently from real life can always attract many people. Not having a complicated gaming control can surely attract those who are not much of sims lover or even game enthusiasts to try it out. Despite the need for downloading can make some people losing interest, it's still a game that deserve some shot, especially for those who love this kind of genre.
