Glory of Gladiators is one of those games where the combat is all automated and done for you. This may be boring for some players wanting to control characters yourself, but the cool graphics and animations make up for it. When you witness fights, the screen changes and it looks like a traditional fighting game. Your warrior stands on the left, and the enemy stands on the right. Once one warrior’s life bar is gone, he is then defeated.
Witnessing battle is very satisfying in Glory of Gladiators because it doesn’t hold anything back. The visuals and character models have a realistic look and the animation is pretty good too. Fighters don’t move awkwardly and they actually move around like a normal human being would. If you love violence, you’ll love this game. Anytime a character gets attacked, you will see blood splatter all over the screen. The sound effects are also nasty, but in a good way.
The sound effects are brutally accurate. The final blow in combat scenes is by far the most violent I have ever seen in a free to play game before. When the enemy dies, you will sometimes see their limbs being cutoff. It may not be as graphic as fatalities in Mortal Kombat games, but it’s pretty violent for a small free to play video game.
As the game continues on, your chosen warrior has to go up against more enemies. Each level really consists of your warrior going up against more lethal enemies. As the game progresses, your warrior becomes more skilled and older. Victory isn’t always guaranteed in this game even if you have powerful weapons and strong equipment. You will probably need to use lots of warriors while playing this game because you will go through a lot of them. Not all of them will be able to survive countless battles.
Overall, Glory of Gladiators is a fun little game that will appeal to gamers that love violence. The graphics are impressive and the fights are brutal like an old-school Mortal Kombat game. Seeing the blood splatter on the screen and violent deaths of your opponents is very graphics, but animated very well. The only flaw is that you don’t have full control over your fighter’s actions. Combat is only simulated so you cannot do anything if your fighter is losing. Still, it’s cool sometimes just to sit back and let the action unfold itself.
