Rappelz
Rappelz Embark on A Unique Gaming Adventure With Rappelz
Another classic fantasy based MMORPG is being unveiled to online gaming fans and this latest outing published by gPotato is titled Rappelz. Despite the odd titling, this game is indeed a classic RPG game which will take gamers into that common adventure world filled with magic, chaotic world, interesting character jobs mashed up in a fantasy land.
In Rappelz, players will be taken to enter a world where three major races, Deva, Gaia and Asure co-exist and collaborate in building peace upon the realm. However, when theres a potential danger arriving from the rise of a legendary evil witch, its time for new heroes to save the realm. Obviously, your mission is training and preparing to become one of those heroes, depending on what races that youve chosen.
Starting the game, just as it was mentioned above, gamers will be given the option in choosing one of three major races, Deva, Gaia and Asure, in which each possessed their plusses and minuses. Aside from choosing one of those three races, gamers are also given the option in picking up several types of classes which names varies depending on the race chosen, theres around 15 jobs options which is pretty neat indeed. These rich options might be enough to replace the lack of selections for character customization which is limited indeed considering the type of game.
In Rappelz, you wont be having the usual in game tutorial which usually flooded gamers screen which can be seen in many other MMORPG games. However, this game provided a different kind of information for the new games, which is by placing all newbie into a map called Trainee Island Guide, which are different for each races. In the spacious Island, players will get much information from NPC along with informative quests that they must do in improving their characters.
The game control in Rappelz uses combination of mouse and keyboards, though the latter is being occupied much for shortcuts. This game is a click to move type, meaning that gamers must first point and click on directions in which they want their characters to go or do. The interface looked pretty common for MMORPG lovers, as its filled with several boxes, indicating stuffs such as skills, pet, mana status, ec. Its a pretty hectic gaming interface indeed, but shouldnt be much of an issue for those who already familiar with this type of games.
As for the graphics, this 3D outing offers something somewhat similar with many other titles from the same genres, so theres nothing special that can be expected although it can be considered good enough for viewing. The designs for each character are okay, although just as it was previously explained, theres a lack of selection for customization. However, gamers wont be disturbed at all with the graphic qualities as its pleasing enough for common viewing.
Although this outing from gPotato are not that much different from many other MMORPG, but Rappelz does provide special stuffs for gamers, which are Pet ownership along with Dungeon Siege system. In this game, you will be given the advantage of having pets that can help players during battle as the animals also have their own stats and abilities. Although there are some advanced pet skills which can only be accessed by the summoner class from each of the three available races, but its still is a fun and helpful addition in the game.
Meanwhile, Dungeon Siege can be called as a unique system which allowed players and their guild to eventually owned a dungeon and get many benefits from it. However, before gamers are able to have their own dungeon, they must first get involved in a siege with other guild which is scheduled weekly in a predetermined time. By owning a dungeon, the massive benefits that players can get includes Lak-the term for an energy received after killing monsters- and also acquiring taxes from other players who are using that dungeon.
That dungeon system also marked the strong online interaction from the game, as both co-operation and PVP features are being heavily suggested for gamers to pick up all the fun from playing Rappelz. However, the lack of quest forced gamers to grind heavily in order to improve their characters stats and skills, something which might not suits some gamers, who are more mission oriented. Leveling up along with battles can also be very dull, especially for RPG lovers who are used to a much more speedy role playing game.
Overall, Rappelz can be considered a good option for RPG fan that are keen with pet system and interesting in doing excessive dungeon battles. Moreover, with the addition of pretty viewable graphic, secure system, such varied classes options and also a free to play outing, this game is a pretty worthy option for those looking to spend some time in front of their computer screen.
