Mystic Guardians
Mystic Guardians Battle On With Mystic Guardians
The popularity of Pokemon type of games in the past few years have inspired many developer to create games with similar genres and DJ Arts becomes the latest creator that jumped into that ship with their latest outing, Mystic Guardians. Just like its title, instead of cute monsters in this Role Playing-Facebook game, players will be capturing, levelling up and battling a certain creatures called guardians, with the hope of becoming the best guardian trainers.
Mystic Guardians story revolves on the main characters mission in becoming a top guardian trainer and getting badges just like his/her father. In fulfilling his/her ambition, the costum-designed character must do several quests, challenging other people guardians, catching and breeding guardians and many things that players commonly sees in this monster breeding type of games.
The game play is pretty simple as in a top-down perspective you will be controlling your character with mouse, interacting with other non playable characters in the game by clicking the one you want talk with. Usually those who are directly connected with the storyline will have a certain marks in top of their heads such as exclamation or question marks. By holding conversations with those marked characters, your main hero will either received quests or special stuffs.
As for the battle, just like any Pokemon inspired games, during fights Mystic Guardians will be taking you into a certain area where you can challenge your opponent in a turn based system. Beside attacking enemies with your guardians special moves, you can also do other things such as healing your monsters, boosting their attacks, reducing opponents capabilities, etc. When you already have more than one Guardians, you could always switch in between them to make the battle easier and levelling those Guardians.
This game has a pretty attractive visual, especially the environment that have a good detail and design. Unfortunately, the characters and Guardians designs arent that attractive enough, which is a bit disappointing since thats pretty much the main selling point for the games visual. However, Mystic Guardians does have a lively and ear catchy music that perfectly switched around when players arrived in different areas.
The social features for Mystic Guardians are mostly optional as players can pretty much continue their adventure without having the need of special assistance from friends or other players. However, things can get much more easier if you can asked some friends to help you out in certain quests, mainly in acquiring some treasures.
Hard cash usage is not being pushed that much in this game, although during battles this thing can become such a certain needs since to heal your guardians you will need to buy the designaged items. However, you can also decide not to cure your wounded guardians immediately and do it after the fights instead by healing them at clinics.
Overall, Mystic Guardians is one of the better Pokemon inspired games out there, which can give some fun playing time for gamers who adored this genre. Considering its a free-to-play facebook game, this outing could potentially be a hit in social media, especially if DJ Arts can improve several technical issues such as the occasional long loading break when players gets into new areas and also the frame rate problems which sometimes occurred when gamers are scrolling around the area.
