Rising Cities is a browser based city building simulation game much in the same vein as EAs famous Sim City games. Its free to play so all you have to do is register the necessary details and then you can start constructing your own city right away.
Rising Cities was only released a few months ago. This is an advantage because it is one of the best looking browser based video games Ive encountered. The game does perform slower on older computers, although the game was able to still run fine. The bright colors and full 3D graphics are what make this game stand out from the rest of the pack. Not only are the graphics nicely laid out, but the games overall interface is easy to navigate as well. All of the tools you need to construct your city are conveniently placed at the bottom of the screen with some big blue buttons that really stand out. Some other city building video games are annoying because the buttons you require are cluttered throughout the entire screen. You wont get this type of frustrating experience while playing Rising Cities. Your tutorial helper at the start of the game is a handy man by the name of Hank Lloyd Right. He teaches you the basics of the game to get your city up and running in the first place. The tutorial is pretty short and the games simplicity means you dont really have to delve deep to actually know your objective here. Its a city building game and all you have to do is construct a number of buildings and keep your citizens occupied and happy. In order for your city to grow and thrive, this is where the bulk of the gameplay lies. You start off in a small simple area where City Hall resides. For you to make your city grow, you have to construct houses for your workers to stay in plus resource buildings for you to collect and store resources. It isnt as simple as it sounds like because there is a lot of vegetation in your way and you have to make all the roads connect to each building. Your objectives are laid out conveniently at the side of the screen and they will build up as you go along. Some of the objectives can get a bit time consuming because not all buildings will be able to be completed in a matter of seconds. Not to mention you have to make enough money to purchase new land so your city can rise so to speak. The only thing I found missing in Rising Cities is any background music. There are some nice sound effects in the game, but no music for you to hear while youre making your city. You can always play your own music library from your own computer; however it would have been a nice touch if this game had music of its own. Theres not much else to say about Rising Cities really. Its a simple and accessible city building game that fans of this particular genre will love to play. Beginners will love its bright colored presentation and simple design. The graphics are really impressive too, although some might criticize it for being too cartoonish. Nevertheless, Rising Cities is a fun game for those wanting to virtually control a city of their own.

Rising City is a yet another great game from a big game company Bigpoint. Rising city has a game genre simulation, to be more detailed, it a great browser based city building simulator, this time Bigpoint managed to create a good and successful game after their big disappointment RamaCity.
